Two events, including an all-day symposium and a film shot on location at his house, will celebrate the anniversary of Galileo's discoveries through the use of the telescope and reflect upon the significance of his discoveries to the development of our culture and to science. Galileo's home in Florence is shown at the left.

Challenging the Paradigm: The Legacy of GalileoThis all-day symposium will take place at the California Institute of Technology. Many speakers are scheduled throughout the day. Additional can be found here.The Human and Scientific Tale of GalileoThis free public lecture will begin at 8pm at the California Institute of Technology.
