Two events, including an all-day symposium and a film shot on location at his house, will celebrate the anniversary of Galileo's discoveries through the use of the telescope and reflect upon the significance of his discoveries to the development of our culture and to science. Galileo's home in Florence is shown at the left.

Two events celebrating the 400th anniversary of Galileo's achievements and discoveries will take place on Thursday, November 19th.

Challenging the Paradigm: The Legacy of Galileo

This all-day symposium will take place at the California Institute of Technology. Many speakers are scheduled throughout the day. Additional can be found here.

The Human and Scientific Tale of Galileo

This free public lecture will begin at 8pm at the California Institute of Technology. The lecture will include the screening of a film shot on location at Galileo's home in Florence, Italy. Download a flyer (PDF, 1.46 MB) here.
